Not All Clients Are Equal – Find Out Why
The sales tip this week, isn’t just something that’s working right now; this is a tip that’s evergreen – meaning something that’ll serve you for life – and that tip is, ‘Not all clients are equal’.
Not All Clients Are Equal
Be careful who your serve and choose as clients.
Some in which you will agree, and an absolute God send to work with. They’re a pleasure, and makes you wonder if it is even work to serve them.
Others however – suck the lifeblood out of you, and make you wonder why you’re in the business you’re in, in the first place.
There’s only one of you – and only so much time you can give. Use it to serve people worth serving.
So why do people try to get as many clients as they can?
It comes from a place of desperation.
When you’re looking at metrics, and you’re purely focusing on the numbers, then your drive is to serve as many clients as potentially possible.
The problem is, do you have metrics in place to measure the quality of client you want to serve?
If you’re a business owner or sales manager, what kind of clients are you pushing onto your staff?
What is that doing for their morale, and how may it be affecting other parts of your division or business?
Two things before you continue your week.
Firstly: What does an awesome client look like to you? Perhaps have this discussion with your team, and put together a framework, or hurdles to prevent crap quality clients coming through the door.
We did this, and no longer focus on a one on one coaching model. Instead, we leverage with an online program at a fraction of the initial cost.
Secondly: I’m curious. What’s the worst client you’ve ever had? Simply let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear your story!
